Four New Skyscraper Plans Uncovered by Magellan Development Group

Magellan Development Group has revealed new skyscraper plans for Chicago’s Lakeshore East, close to Lake Michigan Waterfront and Chicago River.

Apart from constructing Chicago’s third tallest building, the Vista Tower, they have partnered with Lendlease and Hanhwa for development of the new towers. The intention is to build four structures ranging from 40 to 80 stories, either being residential spaces or hotel rooms. The architecture of the high-rises will be devised by bKL Architecture.

Chicago has recently witnessed a significant increase in prominent buildings, last being in the 1980s. Ten of the main skyscraper projects are possibly worth $1 billion or more.  If the plans of the 4 buildings are approved by Chicago Planning Commission and Chicago City Council, work could begin in 2018.
