Top 10 CRE Books

A colleague of mine recently shared with me some advice he got early in his career in commercial real estate. “To be successful in commercial real estate is simple if you don’t lose sight of two things: 1) Make your client like you as a person (not just a business contact), and 2) Don’t forget to demonstrate to your client that you are competent.” I think these 2 pieces of advice can take a person a long way not just in commercial real estate, but really any client-service oriented career. There is no hard and fast rule to achieving either of these 2 requirements. But if you are going to demonstrate your competency to your client, you better be sure to have the fundamentals of real estate nailed down. To help you get there, we came up with this list of the Top 10 CRE Books, in no particular order. This list has a good smattering of knowledge for several disciplines within the industry, including finance, accounting, law, development, valuation, and brokerage.
